Zelensky got more votes in first round than Poroshenko, Timoshenko combined

Zelensky received 30.24% of the votes in the first round of the presidential race

KIEV, April 4. /TASS/. With 100% of the ballots counted, Servant of the People Party’s presidential candidate Vladimir Zelensky received greater support than incumbent President Pyotr Poroshenko and leader of the Batkivshchyna (Fatherland) Party Yulia Timoshenko combined, who finished second and third respectively, Zelensky’s campaign team said on Thursday.

"The proportion of the voters who cast their ballots for Vladimir [Zelensky] is greater than the following two candidates combined. The next on the list is incumbent President Pyotr Poroshenko with 15.95% of the votes, while Yulia Timoshenko finished third with 13.40% of support," the campaign team wrote on its Telegram channel. Moreover, Zelensky was named "the unquestionable leader".

Earlier on Thursday, the Ukrainian Central Election Commission (CEC) announced that with 100% of the election ballots counted Vladimir Zelensky received 30.24% of the votes in the first round of the presidential race, while 15.95% of voters supported incumbent President Pyotr Poroshenko, and Batkivshchyna Party leader Yulia Timoshenko racked up 13.4%. Meanwhile, Opposition Platform - For Life Party candidate Yuri Boyko finished fourth with 11.6% of the votes, and other candidates enjoyed the support of less than 10%.
