Boyko wins most votes in Kiev-controlled Donbass territory

According to the latest data, some 35.15% of voters in the Donetsk Region supported Boyko. In the Lugansk Region, Boyko was backed by 39.47% of Ukrainians

KIEV, April 1. /TASS/. Yuri Boyko, candidate from the Opposition Platform - For Life party, is the frontrunner in the presidential race on the Kiev-controlled territory of the Donetsk and Lugansk Regions, Ukraine’s Central Election Commission said.

According to the latest data, some 35.15% of voters in the Donetsk Region supported Boyko, with a total of 49.29% of ballots counted. In the Lugansk Region, where 33.39% of ballots have been processed, Boyko was backed by 39.47% of Ukrainians.

Showman and head of the Servant of the People political party Vladimir Zelensky is leading the Ukrainian presidential race with 30.27% of the vote. Incumbent President Pyotr Poroshenko garnered 16.52%. Zelensky was favored by most military voters in the Donbass operation zone.

The runoff election is scheduled for April 21.
