Netanyahu vows to ‘respond forcefully’ to Gaza rocket attack, cuts short visit to US

TEL AVIV, March 25. /TASS/. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has discussed the rocket attack from the Gaza Strip against the State of Israel with the heads of intelligence and security services and promised to respond with force.

"Several minutes ago I concluded a telephone update and consultation with the Chief-of-Staff, the head of the ISA Director and the head of the NSC. There has been a criminal attack on the State of Israel and we will respond forcefully. In light of the security events I have decided to cut short my visit to the US. In a few hours I will meet with President Trump; I will return to Israel immediately afterwards in order to manage our actions from close at hand," the Prime Minister’s press service reported on Monday.

According to earlier reports by the national medical service, Magen David Adom, seven Israeli citizens were hospitalized with injuries of varying severity on Monday after a rocket was launched from the Gaza Strip that hit a residential building in the Moshav Mishmeret community in central Israel.

Israel sending additional troops

The Israel Defense Forces are sending additional troops to the Gaza Strip border following a rocket attack that left seven Israeli citizens wounded. Besides, a partial mobilization of reserves has begun.

The Israel Defense Forces said that two additional brigades would be deployed to the area and a partial mobilization of reserves would take place.
