MOSCOW, March 20. /TASS/. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin discussed Syria’s reconstruction on Wednesday with Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, Director of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS, and UNDP Country Director in Syria David Akopyan, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"UNDP representatives in Syria have informed us about the current state of affairs in Syria’s early reconstruction and about the results achieved in the context of the implementation of projects with Russia’s donor participation aimed at rebuilding residential areas and basic infrastructure in Syria," the foreign ministry said.

The meeting also focused on project cooperation at the Russia-UNDP Trust Fund.

"The sides agreed to continue dialogue on boosting Russia’s strategic partnership with the UNDP," the ministry added.
