Lavrov, UN chief discuss global issues over phone

In particular, Russia's top diplomat offered his condolences to Guterrres on 21 UN employees killed in the Ethiopian Airlines plane crash on March 10

MOSCOW, March 15. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres discussed international issues in a phone call on Friday, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.

"[The parties] exchanged views on pressing international issues," the ministry said.

Lavrov also offered his condolences to Guterrres on 21 UN employees killed in the Ethiopian Airlines plane crash on March 10. The Boeing 737 en route from Ethiopia’s capital of Addis Ababa to Kenya’s Nairobi was carrying 157 people, including three Russians. None of them survived.
