IDF: About 100 targets attacked in Gaza in response to missile attack against Tel Aviv

On Thursday evening for the first time since 2014 the air-raid warning went off in the area of so-called Greater Tel Aviv

TEL AVIV, March 15. /TASS/. The Israeli military hit about 100 targets in the Gaza Strip on Friday in response to a missile attack on Tel Aviv on Thursday evening, the press service of the Israel Defense Forces reported.

"In response to the missile attack out of Gaza, about 100 terrorist targets were attacked across the Gaza Strip," a press service official tweeted in Arabic.

The army earlier reported that the air-raid warning went off several times in the regional councils of Eshkol, Sha'ar HaNegev and Sdot Negev which border the Gaza Strip, as well as in the city of Sderot, overnight into Friday. The military reported about five missile launches out of Gaza and the interception of three of them by the Iron Dome air defense system.

On Thursday evening for the first time since 2014 the air-raid warning went off in the area of so-called Greater Tel Aviv. The military reported that two missiles were launched on the city but the Iron Dome did not carry out any intercepts. No injuries were reported.

"The terrorist organization Hamas is responsible for all that is happening in the Gaza Strip and near its border. Israel’s army seriously considers any attempt to damage the Israeli civil population and will continue to vigorously fight with these terror attacks," the military noted.
