Google corrects error with Crimea's display on certain Russian users' maps

According to the press service, where Google has local versions of Google Maps, like in Russia, the company follows local laws when displaying names and borders

MOSCOW, March 5. /TASS/. Google fixed the error with incorrect displaying of Crimea on maps of certain Russian users, the company’s press service told TASS on Tuesday.

"We believe that we have fixed the error being the reason why a small portion of users of Google maps at devices with iOS saw wrong information," the press service said.

"We endeavor to objectively display disputed regions and where we have local versions of Google Maps, like in Russia, we follow local laws when displaying names and borders," the press service said.

The State Duma, the lower house of the Russian parliament, initiated a check earlier in connection with incorrect indication of the peninsula’s territorial belonging on Google Maps.
