Self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic wants to join UN

DONETSK, March 1. /TASS/. The head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) has approved the adoption of DPR's foreign policy concept, including plans to join the United Nations Organization and Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Donetsk News Agency reported on Friday.

"In accordance with Part 3 Article 56, Part 1 Article 60 of the Constitution of the Donetsk People's Republic, with the aim of determining directions, tasks and objectives of DPR's foreign policy, I order to adopt the following Concept of republic's foreign policy," the decree said.

The document establishes DPR's plans to achieve international recognition and join the UN, as well as develop cooperation with CSTO, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Eurasian Economic Union and others. "Moreover, in accordance with the concept, the republic aims to achieve peace with Ukraine on the basis of structly observing the Minsk Agreements. At the same time, it is noted that the relations between countries should be based on principles of mutual respect," Donetsk News Agency added.
