ANKARA, February 20. /TASS/. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday that his country’s won’t be able to cope with another wave of Syrian refugees on its own.

"If another new wave of Syrian refugees follows, Turkey’s won’t be able to cope with it on its own anymore," the Turkish leader said during a speech in Istanbul, broadcast by the Haber TV. "The formula of creating security zones [in Syria], which we suggested at the very beginning of the Syrian crisis, is the most practical way to bring the refugees home."

"The refugees’ stay on the territory of Turkey cannot be viewed as the only way to solve the problem of Syrian refugees," the Turkish leader added.

In early February, Erdogan suggested creating refugee cities in Syria consisting of container-unit houses.
