South Korean fishing vessel detained by Russian border guards

The name of the vessel has not been disclosed by Seoul so far

SEOUL, February 18. /TASS/. Russian border guards have detained a South Korean vessel on suspicion of illegal fishing in Russia's waters, the South Korean Foreign Ministry reported on Monday.

According to the ministry, the vessel, which has 11 crew members, has been towed to the port city of Nakhodka. "All sailors are safe. Employees of the South Korean Consulate have left for Nakhodka from Vladivostok to provide assistance to them," the ministry said.

According to the South Korean Foreign Ministry, the vessel assigned to Uljin departed from the port a few days ago and was detained on Sunday.

The name of the vessel has not been disclosed, only its displacement - 69 tonnes - is known.
