SOCHI, February 14. /TASS/. The problems of security in northeastern Syria in view of the possibility of the US troop pullout must be resolved exclusively on the basis of strict observance of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of that country, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the current trilateral Russian-Turkish-Iranian summit for Syrian settlement.

"It is necessary to discuss the further march of events in northeastern Syria in view of the known statements by US officials about the possibility of a US troop pullout," Putin said.

He recalled that in the course of his talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Moscow in January the sides agreed that "the problems of security in northeastern Syria, just as in any other parts of the country, must be resolved on the basis of strict observance of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.".
