Media watchdog sums up data after inspection of BBC broadcaster in Russia

MOSCOW, February 12. /TASS/. Russia’s media watchdog Roskomnadzor is now summing up the results of its inspection of British TV LLC, the BBC World News broadcaster in Russia, conclusions will be announced later, head of the watchdog Alexander Zharov told reporters.

"So far, no decision has been made. We have made a check are now summing up the data. As soon as we make the decision, I'll tell you right away," he said.

On December 21, 2018, Roskomnadzor announced that it was launching a probe into the BBC’s websites and the BBC World News channel for violations of Russian laws following British media regulator Ofcom’s statement, which said that the RT TV channel had broken impartiality rules.

From January 14 to January 31, the watchdog checked British Television for compliance with the requirements of TV and radio broadcasting.
