MOSCOW, February 11. /TASS/. The foreign ministries of North Korea and Russia are holding consultations on boosting defense and political dialogue, North Korea’s Ambassador to Moscow Kim Hyung Jun said at a meeting with Russian Federation Council (the upper house of parliament) Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Konstantin Kosachev on Monday.

"Our meeting shows how well friendly relations between North Korea and Russia have been progressing. "Ties between the two countries’ parliaments have intensified," he added.

Kim Hyung Jun pointed out that relations between Pyongyang and Moscow had progressed in 2018. On this occasion, the two foreign ministries are holding consultations on expanding and strengthening economic, defense and political ties, as well as relations in other areas," he said.

According to Kim Hyung Jun, the North Korean-Russian intergovernmental commission will meet in Moscow in early March.
