Ukraine’s police opened 24 criminal cases due to violations during the election campaign

Since the beginning of the election campaign, the police have received 760 reports of violations of the electoral legislation

KIEV, February 10. /TASS/. Ukraine’s police initiated 24 criminal proceedings over violations during the ongoing presidential election campaign in the country, the communications department of the Interior Ministry reported on Sunday.

"As of Sunday, they (the police - TASS) have additionally registered 350 applications and reports of violations related to the electoral process, 24 criminal proceedings have been initiated," Deputy Interior Minister Sergei Yarovoy said as quoted by the department.

Since the beginning of the election campaign, the police have received 760 reports of violations of the electoral legislation.

The next presidential elections in Ukraine will be held March 31, 2019. The Central Election Commission registered 44 candidates.
