Finnish parliament speaker to visit Moscow

In particular, Paula Risikko is scheduled to hold a brief meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev

HELSINKI, January 11. /TASS/. Finnish Parliament Speaker Paula Risikko will make a visit to Russia next week, the parliament’s press service said in a statement.

"Risikko will address the Gaidar Forum in Moscow on January 15 and will hold meetings with the speakers of both houses of the Russian parliament - Federation Council Chairperson Valentina Matviyenko and State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin - as well as with Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova on January 14-15," the statement reads.

Besides, the Finnish parliament speaker is also scheduled to hold a brief meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

Chairman of the Russian Federation Council Commission on Information Policy Alexei Pushkov said that Risikko would make a trip to Russia after he had visited the Finnish parliament with a delegation of young Russian lawmakers. According to him, parliamentary ties between Russian and Finland have recently received a new impetus following a gap of several years.
