YEREVAN, January 7. /TASS/. Armenia keeps discussing the possibility of natural gas deliveries from Iran, Armenia’s acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told reporters on Monday.
"The issue of Iranian gas deliveries is always on the agenda. We will keep discussing this matter until we find a practical and advantageous solution," the Armenian leader said.
He added that Yerevan will keep negotiating with Russia on the gas price.
"We continue the negotiations and will do our best to defend the interests of our country," the acting premier said.
The Russian gas price for Armenia was reconsidered from January 1, the Gazprom’s press service said earlier. It will total $165 per 1,000 cubic meters. The earlier price for Armenia was $150 per thousand cubic meters of gas. Russian gas deliveries to the country stood at 1.87 billion cubic meters in 2016, and at 2 billion cubic meters in 2017.
Armenia’s authorities have repeatedly said that they were negotiating a reduction of prices for natural gas with the Russian side. Natural gas is supplied to Armenia by Gazprom’s subsidiary Gazprom Armenia.
