Ukrainian forces shell LPR territory 3 times over last 24 hours

LUGANSK, December 31. /TASS/. Ukrainian forces have shelled the territory of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic (LPR) three times over the last 24 hours, LPR people's militia said on Monday.

"The settlements of Donetsky and Zhelobok came under fire," LuganskInformCenter quoted LPR people's militia as saying. Ukrainian forces used mortars, anti-tank grenade launchers and small arms.

Since the start of the conflict, the sides have agreed on a ceasefire over 20 times already, but violations keep occurring. On December 27, members of the Contact Group's security subgroup reached an agreement on "New Year ceasefire" which entered into force at 1:01am Moscow time on December 29.
