Ukrainian president leaves top three contenders for Ukrainian presidency, poll shows

KIEV, December 14. /TASS/. Leader of the Batkivshchyna (Fatherland) party Yulia Timoshenko, showman Vladimir Zelensky and head of the Civil Initiative party Anatoly Gritsenko represent the top three contenders for Ukrainian presidency, with the election due to be held on March 31, 2019.

According to the poll of the Social Monitoring Center and the Ukrainian Institute of Social Research released on Friday, 14.8% (20.0% of those who chose sides) would vote for Timoshenko. Showman Vladimir Zelensky is ranked second, with 8.8% (11.9%) ready to support him. A total of 8.6% (11.6%) of respondents would back Gritsenko.

In the meantime, 8.3% (11.1% of those who chose sides) plan to vote for the leader of Opposition Platform For Life Yuri Boiko, 8.1% (10.9%) for incumbent Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko, 6.1% (8.2%) for leader of the Radical Party Oleg Lyashko.

That said, the sociologists pointed out that 14.1% found it difficult to make a choice, and 11.8% did not plan to take part in the voting at all.

Responds from all over Ukraine, including the territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, were questioned from December 1 to 10. A total of 2,198 people took part in the survey.
