Technical data proves West’s ‘Russia hacking’ conspiracy theories don’t hold water

Technical data has been unable to validate any of the West’s hype over ‘hacker attack’ accusations against Russia

MOSCOW, December 11. /TASS/. Technical data has been unable to validate any of the West’s hype over ‘hacker attack’ accusations against Russia, Deputy Director of Russia’s Computer Incident Response Coordination Center Nikolai Murashov said Tuesday.

Cyber attacks, their sources and consequences have been a favorite subject of foreign media outlets recently, he mentioned. "They are actively ratcheting up and feeding the public the theory that the Russian Federation is behind the majority of the attacks, and that our country meddles in the political process of other countries, particularly influencing elections. Meanwhile, reliable technical data that can be analyzed by experts, never confirms the accusations," Murashov told a briefing.

He emphasized the fact that the Western press prefers to dodge the fact that Russia’s media landscape is part and parcel of the global one, and thereby shares all of its problems, but here the opinion of the expert community is avoided.

The Computer Incident Response Coordination Center was established in September 2018 based on an order issued by the director of the Federal Security Service (FSB) in compliance with the presidential decree to create a state system to detect, prevent and deter cyber attacks on Russian information assets.
