Russian foreign minister holds meeting with OSCE secretary general in Milan

According to the Russian foreign ministry, the sides discussed the conflict in eastern Ukraine

MILAN, December 6. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has held a meeting with Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Thomas Greminger on Thursday on the sidelines of a meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council.

The minister and the secretary general welcomed each other, and after that the meeting continued without the media. Later, the Russian foreig ministry said Lavrov has discussed the OSCE aimed at resolving the conflict in eastern Ukraine with Greminger."The parties discussed pressing issues on the OSCE’s agenda, as well as the organization’s efforts to contribute to resolving the conflict in eastern Ukraine, including the activities of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission," the statement reads.

On December 6-7, Lavrov is participating in the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting in the Italian city of Milan. He has already addressed the meeting and met with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini.

Lavrov and Greminger already met about a month ago: on November 2, negotiations were held in Moscow at which security provision in Europe and the situation in Ukraine were discussed.
