MOSCOW, December 4. /TASS/. The defense attorney of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich has said ahead of the next court hearing scheduled for December 5 that his client’s health condition continues to be serious after a recent spinal injury.

According to Alexander Goroshinsky, he will promptly hand over the medial records concerning his client’s physical condition to Kiev’s Obolon court, where Yanukovich was to make his last statement in the high treason case.

"I came to Moscow in connection with the planned December 5 court session," he wrote on his Facebook page. "Unfortunately, I was unable to meet with Viktor Fyodorovich personally. I did meet with an invited doctor from Israel, well-known surgeon Eyal Attias." Goroshinsky noted that the Israeli specialist had been invited for consultations on Viktor Yanukovich’s treatment.

"I will immediately forward the medical records that Dr. Attias handed over to me to the Obolon cout after returning to Kiev," Goroshinsky added.

Kiev’s Obolon District Court earlier put off the former Ukrainian president’s last statement until December 5, since Yanukovich was unable to attend the previous court hearing because of the spinal injury. According to his defense team, the politician needed a treatment course lasting from two to three weeks after he had injured his spine and knee while playing tennis.
