Syrian authorities, opposition planning second prisoner swap by year-end — source

The first prisoner exchange between the government and the opposition under the 10+10 formula was held on November 24

ASTANA, November 29. /TASS/. The second prisoner exchange between the government and the Syrian opposition is expected to be carried out by the end of 2018, a source close to the Astana talks’ organizers told TASS on Thursday.

"There are plans to carry out the second prisoner exchange by the end of the year," the source said. "We plan to swap up to 50 people on each side," he noted.

The first prisoner exchange between the government and the opposition under the 10+10 formula was held on November 24. Russian Special Presidential Envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentyev said some 50 or 60 people from each sides could be included in the lists for the second swap.
