The statement came following the 13th plenary meeting of the Russian-German high-level working group on security policy

BERLIN, November 12. /TASS/. Dialogue with Russia is necessary and essential, the German foreign ministry said on Monday following the 13th plenary meeting of the Russian-German high-level working group on security policy that was held earlier in the day in Berlin.

The ministry noted that it was the first meeting in this format over the past six years.

The meeting was co-chaired by Russian First Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Titov and German Foreign Ministry State Secretary Andreas Michaelis. The group discussed the conflict in Ukraine, the situation around the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty, Iran’s nuclear program and a number of other international problems.

It was agreed to hold the next meeting in Moscow in 2019.
