No plans for Normandy Four meeting in Paris on November 11 — Kremlin spokesman

The "Normandy Four format" stands for talks between the leaders of Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France, or representatives of these states, on ways of settling the conflict in eastern Ukraine

MOSCOW, November 2. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin’s schedule for November 11 does not envisage a meeting in the Normandy Four format on the sidelines of commemorative events in Paris, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday.

"As of now, there are no such plans," he said.

Ukrainian president’s representative to the Verkhovna Rada (parliament) Irina Lutsenko said in an interview with the Inter television channel earlier that a meeting in the Normandy Four format in Paris was not ruled out.

Paris will host celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the armistice after World War I on November 11. Putin plans to take part. A number of other leaders have said they would be there.

The term "Normandy Four format" stands for talks between the leaders of Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France, or representatives of these states, on ways of settling the conflict in eastern Ukraine. There have been five summit meetings in this format and 15 meetings of the four countries’ top diplomats. The latest meeting of the Normandy Four leaders took place in Berlin on October 19-20, 2016.
