Two Syrian servicemen killed in shelling attack by militants

The Russian reconciliation center said that seven shelling attacks were reported from the settlements of Nahshebba, al-Salihiya and Sanjeka in the Latakia governorate and Alleppo’s neighborhoods

MOSCOW, November 2. /TASS/. Two Syrian servicemen were killed and 13 more were wounded in shelling attacks staged by militants in the Latakia governorate and the city of Aleppo, chief of the Russian Center for reconciliation of the conflicting sides Vladimir Savchenko said on Tuesday.

"During the day, seven shelling attacks were reported from the settlements of Nahshebba, al-Salihiya and Sanjeka in the Latakia governorate and Alleppo’s neighborhoods. As a result of shelling, two Syrian servicemen were killed and 13 more were wounded. No civilian casualties were reported," he said.

During the day, officers of the Russian reconciliation center conducted one humanitarian operation. As many as 300 bags with food with an overall weight of 1.3 tonnes were distributed among civilians in the settlement of Zamalka in the Rif Dimashq governorate.

Apart from that, fresh bread was handed out to people in Aleppo’s Ahmadiya neighborhood. Humanitarian assistance was delivered to the families of the local Russian-speaking community.

Russian reconciliation center

The Russian reconciliation center continues to fulfill assigned tasks after the completion of the military campaign in Syria. The center’s officers regularly travel around the country's liberated areas to assess the humanitarian situation. The main efforts of the Russian military are now focused on assistance to the refugees returning to their homes.
