BRUSSELS, October 31. /TASS/. The Russia-NATO Council has held an ambassadorial meeting in Brussels, which lasted for three and a half hours.

It was the Council’s second meeting in 2018.

According to information available to TASS, the meeting’s participants discussed defense issues, including ways to prevent dangerous incidents amid the growing military activities of Russia and NATO. They also planned to touch upon the United States’ plans to withdraw from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF Treaty) and the situation regarding conventional armed forces in Europe, particularly in light of NATO’s Trident Juncture 2018 drills. In addition, the parties reiterated their positions on the Ukrainian crisis.

The meeting’s participants were not expected to reach any agreements. Russia was represented by Deputy Envoy to NATO Yuri Gorlach.
