Far-right candidate Bolsonaro elected Brazil’s president - electoral court

He secured 55.54% of the votes

RIO DE JANEIRO, October 29. /TASS/. Far-right MP Jair Bolsonaro has won the runoff presidential election in Brazil, according to the official data made public by the country’s Superior Electoral Court on Sunday after processing 94.44% of the ballots.

Bolsonaro secured 55.54% of the votes. As many as 44.46% voters cast their ballots for his rival Fernando Haddad, the candidate from the Workers’ Party. According to this data, the latter’s victory is now "mathematically impossible."

The inauguration of the new head of state is scheduled for January 1, 2019, his presidential term will last four years.
