MOSCOW, October 26. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo discussed over the phone on Friday international and bilateral issues in light of preparations for contacts between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.
"[They] discussed pressing international and bilateral issues in light of preparations for the upcoming contacts between the Russian and US presidents," the ministry said.
The conversation was initiated by the American side.
On Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with White House National Security Adviser John Bolton. Kremlin Aide Yuri Ushakov said after the talks that Putin and Trump would meet in Paris on November 11, where celebrations will be held to mark the 100th anniversary of the armistice that ended WWI.
