Russian security chief, US security adviser discuss JCPOA, Iran, Syria, Ukraine

The sides have also touched upon the Korean issue

MOSCOW, October 22. /TASS/. The Iran nuclear deal, the situation in Syria, Ukraine and Afghanistan were among the topics that were discussed at a meeting between Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev and visiting US National Security Adviser John Bolton, the press service of the Russian Security Council said on Monday after their meeting.

"Among the topics of regional security, Patrushev and Bolton touched upon issues of further development of the situation around the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear program. They also discussed the situation in Syria, Afghanistan and in Ukraine, as well as the Korean Peninsula’s nuclear problem," the press service said.

Patrushev also hailed Washington’s steps towards normalization of the situation around the Korean Peninsula, as well as Seoul’s and Pyongyang’s efforts on that track.
