VIENNA, August 17. /TASS/. Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl plans to have a working conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, whom she has invited to attend her wedding ceremony on Saturday, Austria’s ORF broadcaster reported on Friday, citing a diplomatic source.

According to ORF, no details about the would-be conversation are available.

Kneissl officially invited the Russian leader to attend her wedding ceremony in early June and received a positive response in mid-July, ORF recalled.

The ORF source noted that dialogue is such a format is a somewhat "out-of-date" approach to diplomatic practices. The Austrian foreign ministry stressed however that anyone is free to invite anyone to such a celebration in private capacity.

The Austrian Foreign Ministry said earlier that Putin’s presence at Kneissl’s wedding ceremony had no political side to it.

Russian president’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov on Wednesday confirmed Putin’s inyention to attend the wedding ceremony of Austria’s Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl and businessman Wolfgang Malinger on August 18. He added that Putin had already made up his mind regarding the wedding present but refused to disclose the details.
