Russia-Turkmenistan strategic partnership agreement comes into force

The two foreign ministers also signed a protocol on exchanging instruments of ratification

AKTAU, August 11. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Turkmenistan’s Deputy Cabinet Chairman and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov have exchanged instruments of ratification of the Treaty on strategic partnership between the two countries signed by the two heads of state in Ashgabat on October 2, 2017, a TASS correspondent reported.

The two ministers also signed a protocol on exchanging instruments of ratification.

The ceremony was held on the sidelines of a ministerial meeting of the five Caspian states (Russia, Kzakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iran and Azerbaijan) in Aktau, Kazakhstan.
