KIEV, August 8. /TASS/. More than half of Ukrainian nationals have said they will vote in the Ukrainian presidential election in 2019, where the leader of the Batkivshchina party, parliamentarian Yulia Timoshenko, remains the favorite among the possible contenders, suggests a survey by "Rating" pollster.

"Yulia Timoshenko remains the leader of the presidential rating, with 17.7% of those who will vote and have already chosen the sides ready to support her," it said.

According to the pollster, Timoshenko has "a stable electoral rating practically in all macro-regions with figures somewhat higher in the west, in the center and in the south of Ukraine".

Another 10.7% of the surveyed Ukrainian nationals said they would vote for Civil Position Party leader Anatoly Gritsenko, while 8.9% would support Yuri Boiko, the leader of the Opposition Bloc Party.

Another 8.5% said they would support Radical Party leader Oleg Lyashko. Trailing behind is incumbent President Pyotr Poroshenko, with 8.3% of potential voters ready to back him for president.

Meanwhile, Poroshenko tops the so-called ‘anti-rating’. "Half of respondents would not vote for him under any circumstances," the pollster said in its report. "Almost half of those surveyed definitely plan to vote in the presidential election, while every fifth has said ‘rather yes than no’," the report went on to say.

All in all, 2,000 Ukrainians aged 18 and older took part in the survey carried out between July 20 and August 3. The margin of error does not exceed 2.2%.

The next presidential election in Ukraine is scheduled for March 31, 2019.
