Three servicemen of NATO mission in Afghanistan killed by suicide bomber

The blast also injured one American Resolute Support service member and two Afghan National Army soldiers

TASS, August 5. Three servicemen of NATO’s Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan were killed by a suicide bomber during a patrol with Afghan forces in the country’s east, the mission said in a statement on Sunday.

The blast also injured one American Resolute Support service member and two Afghan National Army soldiers.

The Tolo News TV channel reported earlier that on Sunday morning a suicide bomber riding a car carried out an attack against a convoy of foreign forces in the Parwan province, which was heading to Khala Zai. According to the report, the radical Taliban group (outlawed in Russia) claimed responsibility for the attack.

The Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan to train and assist Afghanistan’s government forces was launched on January 1, 2015. According to various data, some 7,500 servicemen from NATO countries and other states and also nearly 15,000 US soldiers have been deployed to Afghanistan.
