Russian-US dialogue crucial for global stability, says Italian PM

After the G7 summit in June Conte spoke in favor of returning to the G8 format that would embrace Russia

WASHINGTON, July 31. /TASS/. Communication between Washington and Moscow is essential for achieving global stability and security, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said on Monday during a joint news conference with US President Donald Trump at the White House.

"Concerning Russia, you know that Italy favors dialogue with Russia, but Italy also feels that discourse between the United States and Russia is vital so that we successfully achieve more global prospects towards stability and security," Conte said.

Like Trump, he is an active supporter of working with Russia in spite of incessant criticism from the liberal establishment and the mainstream media.

After the G7 summit in June Conte spoke in favor of returning to the G8 format that would embrace Russia.

He stressed that this would serve everyone's interests.
