16 killed, 60 wounded in bombing attack near Kabul’s airport

According to Tolo News television channel, most of those killed and wounded are police officers

TASS, July 22. At least 16 people were killed and 60 more were wounded in a suicide bombing attack near Kabul’s airport shortly after Afghan Vice President Abdul Rashid Dostum, who has returned home from exile, left the airport, Tolo News television channel said on Sunday citing the Afghan interior ministry.

According to the television channel, most of those killed and wounded are police officers.

A suicide bomber activated a powerful bomb in a crowd of Dostum’s supporters near the airport when he was leaving the area in an armored car. Dostum, who returned from an exile in Turkey where he fled in 2017, was not hurt.

Neither of terrorist groups acting in Afghanistan has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
