Trump asks national security adviser to invite Putin to Washington in autumn — White House

The White House has declined to elaborate on the possible dates of the visit

WASHINGTON, July 19./TASS/. US President Donald Trump has asked his Assistant for National Security Affairs John Bolton "to invite President Putin to Washington in the fall and those discussions are already underway," White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders wrote in her Twitter account on Thursday.

The White House has declined to elaborate on the possible dates of the visit or give any additional details regarding these plans.

The Monday’s summit meeting of Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump was the first full-fledged Russian-US summit during Trump’s presidency. Prior to that the leaders had their first talks on the sidelines of a G20 summit in Hamburg on July 2017, and then they had a conversation on the sidelines of an APEC summit in Vietnam last November.
