Elysee Palace says Putin, Macron to meet at moment favorable for both countries

In May, the presidents of Russia and France held talks in St. Petersburg

PARIS, July 13. /TASS/. The French and Russian presidents, Emmanuel Macron and Vladimir Putin, will hold talks at a moment favorable for both countries’ relations, the Elysee Palace told the AFP news agency on Saturday.

The Sunday meeting will be held in the milestone context, sandwiched between the recent NATO summit and the upcoming summit meeting between Vladimir Putin and [US President] Donald Trump, the presidential officials said.

The talks will continue the quite lengthy and positive meeting the French and Russian presidents had in St. Petersburg, they added.

Earlier, Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov told reporters that Putin and Macron would discuss at a meeting in Moscow on July 15, among other issues, the NATO summit held in Brussels on July 11-12 and the upcoming meeting between the Russian and US leaders in Helsinki on July 16. He recalled that Macron had taken part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in May and that now the talks on the current state of relations and their further development would go ahead.
