MOSCOW, May 18. /TASS/. A TV crew of Russia’s VGTRK Media Group has come under fire in the Donbass region in east Ukraine and its sound engineer Igor Uklein has been wounded, Rossiya 1 TV Channel reported on Friday.
"The TV crew of our correspondent Alexander Sladkov has come under fire and sound engineer Igor Uklein has been wounded. This was the same shelling attack, in which commander of the Pyatnashka brigade Oleg Mamiyev known under the call sign of Mamai was killed," the presenter of the "60 Minutes" program said.
As correspondent Alexander Sladkov said in the TV Channel’s live broadcast, the shelling occurred near the community of Krutaya Balka. Uklein and another member of the TV crew, Pavel Vydrin, stayed near Mamiyev at a time when grenades exploded, wounding the commander of the Pyatnashka brigade.
"Igor Uklein suffered most and Pavel Vydrin was also hurt," Sladkov said, without specifying the health condition of the VGTRK TV crew members.
Sladkov later said in a live broadcast of Rossiya 24 TV Channel that Uklein was in hospital with a partial hearing loss while Vydrin will be taken to the hospital soon.
"The guys are in a normal condition," he said.
