Czech Republic testing but not producing Novichok nerve agent — Defense Ministry

The tests were made for the purpose of protecting and providing security to Czech citizens, according to the country’s Defense Ministry

PRAGUE, May 4. /TASS/. Nerve agents like Novichok are being tested but are not produced in the Czech Republic, the country’s Defense Ministry said in a statement circulated on Friday.

"For the purpose of protecting and providing security to Czech citizens, these substances [belonging to the Novichok group] were included in the [ongoing programs of] testing their chemical properties," the document says.

"This is being done exactly in the same manner as with other chemical warfare agents, for example, sarin or tabun," the statement says.
