MOSCOW, April 29. /TASS/. The Il-38 aircraft that earlier made an emergency landing in the Zhukovsky Airport near Moscow will be recovered, a source in the Russian aviation industry told reporters on Sunday.
"Owing to professional action of the crew working in an emergency situation, the aircraft is subject to recovery and will be repaired," the source said.
The crew managed to hold the aircraft on main undercarriage legs "until the aircraft smoothly rested on the cockpit and started braking," the source noted. "Its damages in emergency were minimal," he added.
According to earlier reports, an Ilyushin Il-38 plane of the Indian Air Force safely landed at Moscow’s Zhukovsky airport, with its nose landing gear fold. No fire followed. No one was hurt. Causes of the incident are investigated.
