South and North Korean leaders plant pine tree symbolizing peace on border between states

GOYANG /South Korea/, April 27. /TASS/. DPRK leader Kim Jong-un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in have planted a pine tree on the demarcation line in the demilitarized zone as a symbol of peace and prosperity.

The two countries’ leaders also took a brief stroll, during which they were able to talk tete-a-tete without the presence of any delegation members.

On Friday, the border village of Panmunjom is hosting an inter-Korean summit, the first in more than ten years. South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un spent an hour and a half at the negotiating table before taking a break. Kim Jong-un is the first North Korean leader visiting South Korea.
