GOYANG /South Korea/, April 27. /TASS/. Talks with South Korean President Moon Jae-in will produce positive and substantial results, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said before the opening of the historic talks.

"We have come here with a hope to open a new page in the history of two Koreas. I am confident that we will be able to hold constructive talks with President Moon Jae-in, which will produce very positive and substantial results," Kim Jong-in said, adding he did not want the past to repeat itself and was determined to fulfil all the obligations North Korea would undertake.

The historic event is being broadcast live for reporters gathered in South Korea’s northern city of Goyang.

The inter-Korean summit, the first in more than ten years, has begun in the border village of Panmunjom. Kim Jong-un is the first North Korean leader to visit South Korea.
