Armenia’s deputy parliament speaker confirms talks with opposition on April 25

YEREVAN, April 24. /TASS/. Armenia’s Deputy Parliament Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov has confirmed that talks with the opposition will be held on Wednesday.

"The talks will be tomorrow," Sharmazanov told reporters after a ceremony of laying flowers at the Armenian Genocide memorial.

On Monday, Armenia’s opposition leader Nikol Pashinyan told a rally on Republic Square that he would continue talks on a peaceful power transition with acting head of government Karen Karapetyan.

His first attempt to hold negotiations with Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan at the Marriott hotel in Yerevan on Monday morning yielded no result. Ultimately, Sargsyan stepped down as prime minister.
