Armenian opposition leader says talks on peaceful transition of power to continue

Earlier on Monday, Armenian Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan announced his resignation under the pressure of opposition

YEREVAN, April 23. /TASS/. Armenia’s opposition leader, MP Nikol Pashinyan, has said at a rally on Monday that talks on the peaceful transition of power with Acting Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan will continue on Wednesday.

"On Wednesday we will continue talks on the peaceful transition of power with Karen Karapetyan. I think, given Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan’s resignation, we will continue to act according to the plan that we announced before. We will seek an early parliamentary election," Pashinyan said.

Earlier on Monday, Armenian Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan announced his resignation under the pressure of opposition. First Deputy Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan was appointed Acting Prime Minister.
