The explosion was carried out by a suicide bomber at a voter registration center

TASS, April 22. At least 31 people were killed and more than 50 others were injured in an explosion carried out by a suicide bomber at a voter registration center in Afghanistan’s capital of Kabul on Sunday, Tolo News TV channel wrote on Twitter.

"The ministry of public health spokesman Wahid Majroh confirmed the death toll in Sunday’s deadly bombing in Kabul has risen to 31," it said.

Earlier reports said 12 people died and 57 were injured.

According to Tolo News, the incident occurred at 10 a.m. local time (08.30 a.m. Moscow Time) in Dasht-e-Barchi.

The Islamic State (terror group, outlawed in Russia) has claimed responsibility for the attack, Reuters reported.

Earlier, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani announced the beginning of registration for citizens taking part in the parliamentary and local election scheduled for October. He called on the Taliban movement (outlawed in Russia) to participate in the election. However, the group rejected the offer.
