YEREVAN, April 21. /TASS/. The Armenian police hauled off 62 opposition activists trying to cripple traffic on the streets of Yerevan on Saturday, the law enforcement agency’s spokesman Ashot Agaronyan told TASS.

"As of 13:30 (12:30 Moscow time), 62 suspected law violators have been sent to police precincts," he said.

Starting on April 13, Armenia’s radical opposition launched mass protests against the nomination of Armenian ex-president Serzh Sargsyan for the position of prime minister. Despite the demonstrations, the Armenian Parliament elected Sargsyan as prime minister on April 17.
