EU foreign ministers discuss relations with Russia away from sanctions — official

The ministers reaffirmed the five principles of building relations with Russia endorsed in March 2016

LUXEMBOURG, April 16. /TASS/. Foreign ministers of EU member-states have discussed relations with Russia and the situation in Syria outide of the context of new sanctions, Maja Kocijancic, the press secretary for the EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy told TASS on Monday.

She said they had reviewed relations with Russia on the broadest possible plane. The ministers reaffirmed the five principles of building relations with Russia endorsed in March 2016.

Principle number one is the full implementation of the September 2014 and February 2015 Minsk accords.

The High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy has said in the past further development of relations between the EU and Russia would not be possible without translating the Minsk accords into practice.
