MOSCOW, March 06, /ITAR-TASS/. The State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine on Friday lifted a ban on transportation of nuclear and other radioactive materials via the territory of Ukraine, Mikhail Gashev, the organization’s first deputy head, said.
A ban on movement of trains loaded with materials of nuclear fuel cycle via Ukraine was imposed on January 28, 2014.
In this connection, the TVEL fuel company belonging to the Rosatom State Corporation for Atomic Energy has said that it will continue meeting its obligations to supply nuclear fuel to foreign nuclear power plants despite difficulties with deliveries via the territory of Ukraine.
