World-class Accor Novotel hotel to be built in Arkhangelsk

Such hotels are already in operation in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Krasnoyarsk

ARKHANGELSK, November 14. /TASS/. A world-class Accor Novotel hotel in Arkhangelsk will be commissioned in late 2017, the regional government press service said in a statement on Monday.

“Arkhangelsk has become the fifth Russian city where a modern world-class Accord Novotel hotel will open. Such hotels are already in operation in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Krasnoyarsk,” the statement reads. “The Novotel Arkhangelsk will become part of one of the largest international hotel chains Accor Novotel which comprises over 400 hotels all over the world.”

The Novotel Arkhangelsk in being built in a new recreation area on the Northern Dvina embankment in the city center. It is connected to the Delta multifunctional office and business center with an area of more than 20,000 square meters, designed by a St. Petersburg-based architect Mikhail Mamoshin. There will be 80 rooms in the hotel as well as two conference halls, an internet zone, a fitness center, a restaurant and a bar.

According to the regional government, the implementation of this project will facilitate the introduction of new hospitality industry standards in Arkhangelsk, first and foremost, in the business sector. 

“Arkhangelsk has been hosting The Arctic: Territory of Dialogue annual forum, a lot of events and business meeting have been taking place in the city, so the region needs a world-class hotel,” Deputy Minister of Culture of the Arkhangelsk region, head of the Tourism Development Department Svetlana Zenovskaya noted.
