Red Bull aims to qualify in top ten for Sunday’s F1 GP in Sochi — team’s principal

Red Bull team currently stands in the third place after teams Mercedes and Ferrari in Constructors Standings

SOCHI, April 30. /TASS/. Formula One team Red Bull hopes to qualify in the top ten for the upcoming Russian Grand Prix and deems the layout of the racing circuit in Sochi as a hard one, Team Principal Christian Horner told TASS on Saturday.

"Yesterday was a reasonable day, we got lots of information," Horner said in an interview with TASS commenting on Friday’s two free practice sessions.

"I know the layout of the circuit will be a harder one for us, so hopefully we will be having a qualifying when we get into the top ten and then will be able to have a good race [on Sunday]," he said.

Following three Grand Prix races of this year’s championship Red Bull’s pilot Daniel Ricciardo of Australia is currently in 3rd place with 36 points and his Russian teammate Daniil Kvyat in 7th place with 21 points.

The 22-year-old Russian was on the third step of the podium two weeks ago at the Chinese Grand Prix. It was his second career podium. In July 2015, he was second in Hungary’s Grand Prix.

This year Russia is holding its FIA Formula One racing Grand Prix for the first time in spring, namely on April 29-May 1, as compared with the two previous races held in autumn of 2014 and 2015 in Sochi.
